OUR TEAM IN CHILE

Plastic Oceans has been promoting changes and transitions towards communities free of pollution and a more sustainable society without plastic pollution in Chile for more than 7 years. This work would not have been possible without a team of collaborators who are passionate about our cause and willing to use all their talents, skills and professional knowledge to achieve our mission.
We are an organization that encourages collaborative work, where new skills are developed and things can be learned in each project and from each other. Through mentoring and guided projects we want to develop talent, so that our collaborators learn new skills that will help our mission and their professional carreers.

Statements from former collaborators
Being part of Plastic Oceans has been key in achieving my professional development, as it has allowed me to gain technical knowledge about plastic and its impacts on the planet, it gave me the possibility of learning about political advocacy at various levels, which is central to my daily work.

Being part of Plastic Oceans has been a great learning experience, both personally and professionally. I arrived as a volunteer when I was studying my degree, without having any professional experience, but I did have a lot of motivation. At the organization I had the opportunity to learn in a technical and practical way about plastic pollution. I met people from different areas, I learned to interact with different actors in society to achieve things that I never expected, such as achieving the approval of a law or seeing the pollution in Rapa Nui with my own eyes. The support, experiences and trust that the organization gave me was key to developing me as the person and professional that I am today.

Thanks to Plastic Oceans, I have been able to face current professional challenges with a comprehensive vision that combines a community approach, articulating actions that promote relevant public policies, strengthening inter-institutional collaboration and solving problems.
This experience taught me valuable lessons by collaborating with the public and private sectors in the search for solutions to this problem, which was essential to prepare me for my current role.

At Plastic Oceans Chile I had the opportunity to be one of the developers of two events in particular, and to assume a somewhat executive role. I had the opportunity to face challenging situations, both personally and professionally, such as when I needed to manage events and lead activities that I had never done before. I always felt very well supported by the team.
Without a doubt, Plastic Oceans has helped me grow professionally, I have created professional ties and it has encouraged me to develop myself fully; which would not have been possible without being part of the team.

Plastic Oceans is an organization for which I have a deep affection. Since I began my volunteering with them, I have been given opportunities that I never imagined: from contributing to the creation of videos to traveling with the team and taking on project coordination and field management. Plastic Oceans encourages the development of your talents through trust and support, allowing for both personal growth and care for the environment. The people I have met have enriched my social circle, creating mutually supportive relationships that lead to great ideas and achievements..
